We toured the Union Creek area on foot in the morning and visited a few sites along the rogue river that exhibited it’s power. We left mid-morning destined for Redwoods National Park. The highway we were on continued to follow the Rogue River down towards the coast. After watching it wind back and forth and seeing signs for rafting we stopped at a spot to see what the details were. The guy said all we needed was $40 and a signature on a release form to ride the river for 10 miles. He put the three of us on an inflatable kayak in the river then picked us up a couple hours later. The water was cold and the current strong.

my memory of the redwoods is very positive. but, remember running with dad chasing me and falling on the roots, flying face first. but, the size of the trees are beyond belief!
